What are the words that best describing your personal style?
Edgy, elegant, yet keep evolving. I don’t really stick to a particular style. We aim to keep pushing the boundaries and bringing newness in our design.
What are your first steps in designing a room?
Understanding the site or the position of the room within the project. Understanding the needs and wants of the client and the project. Creating the mood and concept, and always start designing from the layout and the experience we want to achieve.
What is your favorite room to design and why?
Bedroom. It is the area where clients usually will spent most of their time in the house. It is personal and intimate. I love creating that kind of ambience.
We all get a little inspiration from somewhere. What or who really inspires you in your design?
I get inspired by books that I read, movies, fashion, art pieces, photography, and sometimes poems. David Rockwell and Kelly Wearstler are my all-time favorites. I also love Yabu Pushelberg, Neri+Hu, Studio Munge, A.F.S.O and INC.
How has your interior design style changed over the years?
I see that as much as it gets matured by time, it also gets edgier and more adventurous, even though for others it may seems that it’s toned down in a way. I always keep these 3 mantras: experience, proportions & compositions, and details.
