DESIGNER’s STORY
Massimo Morozzi, architect protagonist of the Italian design scene since the early ’70s, was one of the founders of the radical group Archizoom associati, which became famous for its thesis on radical architecture. He has substantially contributed to founding the disciplines of primary design: his research on color and environmental decoration introduces new soft project techniques into product design.
In 1982 he opened his own studio in Milan, Massimo Morozzi Design, increasingly pushing his attention towards product design. The last chapter of his professional life was with Edra, for which he played the role of art director and designed various products, taking care of the coordinated image and set-ups, contributing to its rapid international success.
The tribute of Promemoria to Massimo Morozzi stems from the company’s desire to work with artists involved in the search for avant-garde solutions in the expression of beauty. Bomb armchair, the result of the tribute, confirms the designer’s great vocation towards the full expressive totality of a design, through the use of bold color ranges and new materials.
